How to Eat on Tour....

Oh man... I've been sucking at the blogging, but I'm trying to jump back on the bandwagon.

Since, I'm traveling, I do not have the chance to cook. The closest I get to making my own food is microwaving a frozen dinner. But being on the road has exposed me many fun dinning options. Here is a short best of!!

3. Buffets

I love buffets! Only at a buffet can I combine chow mein, quiche, and fried chicken, all on one plate! Plus, it's all you can eat!! So far we've experienced the buffet at Paula Deen's 'Lady and Sons' in Savannah, Georgia, and the buffet at the Isle of Capri Casino and Resort in Biloxi, MS. We keep passing by a bunch of China Buffets... I can't wait until we get to stop at one of those!

2. Hooters

It's true. I went to my first Hooters! I went with the girls in the cast, and it was a great family dining experience. There were babies and kids everywhere! Also, where else can you get great burgers with a side of boobs. Plus, I think I really like being called 'Sweetie' every time a waitress brings me something. "Here's your Sprite, sweetie!" "Here's your Pulled Pork, sweetie!"

1. Bojangles (All over the south):

Oh, man. Bojangles. Where have you been all my life? Bojangles has to be my new favorite fast food restaurant. Currently there is a two piece crispy chicken dinner special, that comes with one fixin', and a biscuit for... yes... $2.99!!!! Every time we find a Bojangles, Josh and Mara get the glorious Boberry biscuit, which is a blueberry biscuit drenched in gooey gooey frosting! I'm writing a letter to the Bojangles corporation to have Bojangles placed in the New York Area.

Four Cross Dressers Walk into a Hotel....

So, we've spent the last two and a half days in Winston-Salem, NC where we performed 4 shows to some great audiences and now we are in Savannah, Georgia!

Anyway... a little backtracking... Last night, back at the Days Inn in Winston-Salem, I was getting settled in for the night, and Josh came up and alerted me that there were some of the manliest cross dressers hanging out in our hotel lobby, so we ran down for a looksie. First, we pretended to go to the vending machines in order to walk by to catch a glance, but I barely saw them, and so we got closer by sitting down at the free computer in the lobby where we got a better look at them in all their black shiny leather and fishnet glory. Most of the cross dressers I've seen really try to be feminine, not these girls. They were some of the burliest stockiest gruff man women... ever (imagine them talking and kinda looking like John Goodman with a wig.) It was awesome! Grrr. When we had gotten enough, we headed to the elevator, but when the elevator doors opened, we came face to face with then queen of the pack. I tried not to stare at the thickly blue eye shadowed brunette without cracking a smile, but sometimes you just can't help yourself. I look away, pretending (unsuccessfully) to be giggling about something else, and ran into the elevator to hide my face. Well, anyway I hope those gals had a great night on the town.

In other news, I went to my first Hooters tonight. And saw some real women. =)
